Position Title: Senior PHP Developer

Location: IKM Public Office Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India

Job Type: Full-Time

Open Positions: 2

Mode of Appointment: On contract basis for 1 year (extendable based on performance and project needs)

Remuneration: Up to ₹90,000/- per month (Negotiable based on qualifications and experience)

 

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • BTech in IT / Computer Science / Electronics & Communication preferred

  • MCA / BCA / MSc Computer Science / BSc Computer Science

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in PHP development

  • Strong exposure to core development, especially in government e-Governance platforms

  • Experience with Information Kerala Mission (IKM) projects will be considered a strong advantage

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and support of various e-Governance initiatives such as LIFE MIS, CMLRRP, IKM-PG, and other IKM-led platforms

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and plan technical solutions

  • Develop secure, scalable applications using PHP with strong database integration (MySQL/PostgreSQL)

  • Conduct code reviews, maintain coding standards, and mentor junior developers if required

  • Monitor and improve system performance; resolve bugs and deploy enhancements in a timely manner

Required Technical Skills

  • Expertise in PHP, with strong hands-on experience in Laravel and/or CodeIgniter frameworks

  • Experience in large-scale MIS and government IT projects

  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, XML/JSON data formats, and third-party integrations such as payment gateways

  • Front-end proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery

  • Experience with Git and issue-tracking tools for collaborative development

Desirable Skills

  • Prior involvement in IKM projects or similar government platforms

  • Familiarity with Linux-based server environments, deployment processes, and version control workflows

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver under tight timelines
